Why Hire Freddy

Why Hire Me: Thoughtful, Reliable, Results-Oriented

Published: May 2025 — ~6 min read

I'm Freddy Carias. I bring nearly a decade of experience as an IT professional, and I'm currently advancing my skills in software engineering to build reliable, effective solutions that serve real business needs. My background spans industries like healthcare, education, and construction—fields where technology has to be dependable, not experimental.

I work at the intersection of systems, software, and service. If you’re looking for someone who understands both the technical side and the people who rely on it, I bring that perspective to every project.

A Foundation Built on Real-World IT Experience

Before moving into software development, I built my career supporting and managing complex IT environments. I’ve worked on everything from database administration and enterprise rollouts to training teams and building internal tools.

In one of my previous roles, I led national software deployments across more than 450 locations, supported cross-regional teams, and developed tools to automate key business operations. These weren’t side projects—they were mission-critical systems that impacted day-to-day operations.

This experience taught me to listen carefully, prioritize reliability, and think beyond the code.

A Software Engineer in Progress—With a Systems Mindset

I’m currently earning a Master’s in Software Engineering to deepen my ability to design and build applications that align with business needs. My current toolset includes .NET, Blazor, C#, SQL, and scripting languages that power automation and backend workflows.

Because I come from IT, I don’t build in isolation. I understand the full ecosystem—how applications integrate with infrastructure, how users interact with systems, and how to ensure long-term maintainability.

I’m not just learning how to code. I’m learning how to design responsibly and build software with purpose.

Business Understanding That Informs Every Build

With an M.S. in Information Systems and a B.S. in Business Administration, I build with clarity—technically and strategically. My goal is always to create solutions that meet real business objectives, not just check technical boxes.

I work well across teams—from operations to leadership—because I understand what each is trying to accomplish. I ask focused questions:

  • What problem are we solving?
  • How will this solution scale with your operations?
  • What does success look like for your end users?
Bilingual and Culturally Aware

I’m fluent in both English and Spanish, and I’ve led bilingual tech training and user onboarding initiatives. This allows me to communicate clearly across diverse teams and ensure that software is not only functional—but accessible and inclusive.

It’s about more than translation. It’s about understanding people, meeting them where they are, and helping them succeed with the tools we build.

What I’ve Delivered
  • Led national enterprise software rollouts
  • Built internal dashboards to support analytics and compliance
  • Automated manual tasks using PowerShell and Google Apps scripts
  • Supported operations with tools tailored to user needs
Practical. Professional. In Progress—And Focused on Results

I’m a builder at heart. I take pride in the quality of my work, and I approach every engagement with humility, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering something useful.

I may still be completing my transition into software engineering—but I bring the mindset, discipline, and real-world experience that clients can rely on from day one.

If you’re looking for someone who understands systems, solves problems with care, and builds with the long term in mind—I’d be glad to talk.
